Good Friday Tornado

"I really didn't feel comfortable walking down Old St. Charles Road, shooting pictures, during what I saw as the most devastating time of many peoples lives. My apologies to those offended by the onlookers. The sky was very dramatic that day and I wanted to capture and share photos with many people I am acquainted with. I live approximately 1/8 mile south of the destruction and did not realize how bad it really was. I walked to the top of the hill and when I turned on Old St. Charles, between Smiley Road and Taylor Avenue, I could see the real damage that only a tornado can do. I have new respect for all of the weather people here in St. Louis. Thank God that so few people were even injured." Dan Pipken
